Tesla is bringing the car-repair business to Tesla cars, starting with the Tesla Model X SUV.
The automaker has signed an agreement with CarCare Systems to help customers recover their vehicles from major accidents and fires.
The service, which is already available to owners of Model X SUVs, will allow owners to get a free car repair, along with a free set of Tesla accessories like a spare tire.
Tesla says the free car repairs will come “at no additional cost to the owner of the vehicle.”
CarCare Systems, which was founded by former Tesla CEO Elon Musk, will help Tesla owners repair their vehicles and will deliver free service to Tesla owners through its online store.
Tesla is partnering with Carcare Systems, with which Tesla was previously connected, in a $50 million funding round.
Tesla said it plans to use CarCare services in other models including the Model 3, but did not specify which ones.
Tesla will offer a free, two-year subscription to the service on its website, and the service will start at $39.99 per month.
