Cars calling system is expected to be rolled out in 2018, a major milestone for the firm, as it continues to focus on developing its digital services.
The new service, which is the first to include the Apple CarPlay-based technology, will offer users a way to make and receive calls, texts, calendar events and more from their phones.
Cars calling is currently only available for iPhone, Android and Microsoft devices.
The company also announced that it is bringing its CarPlay technology to other platforms including the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, as well as the Samsung NX, Nokia 6, Huawei Mate 10, Xiaomi Mi 5 and LG V30.
Carradia’s CarPlay services include a car location, a car call, an audible notification, a countdown timer and an alarm for a particular location.
Carcia said that the CarPlay platform is also the first app to support a car to car mapping feature, which will be introduced later this year.
The announcement comes after CarPlay was announced in 2016 and the launch of CarPlay for Windows Phone, Android, iOS and Microsoft’s Xbox.
The launch of Cars calling comes after a number of new cars were introduced in 2016, including the BMW i3, Honda Civic, Porsche Cayman, Tesla Model S and Nissan Leaf.
